At 0-7 yesterday afternoon, there was the distinct possibility of the final being finished a session early for the first time since 1993. Jones has showed tremendous character to keep himself in with some kind of chance. The question that World Snooker perhaps ought to look at is whether a longer break is needed between the qualifiers and the Crucible stages.

I agree Jones has done well to stick in the match, gritty tactician, but I also think he has had way more of the run of balls in crucial moments. Still, that's all part of the game, and another thing that's kept it competitive. You just can't keep relying on picking up scrappy frames though, Even though he's managed it most of the tournament. Either way whatever happens, Jones has done himself and his nation proud.

Possibly the most emotional title winning moment since Alex Higgins but there's no doubt the strongest player over 17 days is champion of the world tonight. Well done Kyran.
