So we have Gargamel for the rest of the season, a few weeks ago I had thought that giving him the job after sacking Conte might have been a good idea but ruled it out thinking he would leave with Conte. I guess the removal of Conte was actually pretty mutual and Conte has told Stellini that he is ok with this situation. Also.. retaining staff rather than bringing new ones in is classic Levy economics.

I am very happy that Conte is gone, and that Stellini is manager (for at least the short term). I hope that Stellini and Mason have picked up on the main f*ck ups of Conte's time and can try move on from that.

I think it is definitely worth highlighting that the last assistant manager who took over following the removal of the manager was a certain balding Dutchman...

Rarely see the number 2 stay on when a manager is sacked.

Unlikely to be the long term replacement but always feel like an interim manager gets the opportunity to audition at least. Main thing is Conte has moved on finally.

    The death of Joe Lewis.

Levy isnt leaving, hopefully he start to make smart decisions again. Crossing fingers Munn was, and that manager will be.

And it looks like Poch will be Spurs rivals, Chelsea, as their coach, Poch has more than likely told Levi to stick it if he offered him the Spurs job after sacking him last time around. :biggrin2:

Levy apparently couldn't be f*cked even contacting Poch, his ego wont let him as it would mean having to admit the mistakes he made in the final year or two of Poch's reign and reasons for sacking him.

Levy reminds me of the former Newcastle owner, Ashley, who was all for himself and everybody else can get stuffed, he eventually left the Magpies, and look at Newcastle now, could be the same with Spurs if Levy sold out.

That's fan perspective coming from Levy hatred though.
Levy could also be weary of hiring Pochettino again as he clearly checked out towards the end last time and wanted to be sacked.
Could be many reasons we aren't privy to.

Levy is far from comparable to Ashley, he has made us together with City the most consistent top side for over a decade. Imagine if Ashley had lead Newcastle from what they were into continuously Champions League participation in the same time as building the best stadium and facilities in the world. There's enough to be critical of Levy about without going all blind in on him.
Last 5 years after Pochettino's side was allowed to go stale almost every football decision have been bad, and it need to change now.

But of course yes, if Arab state buy us and use their oil money on us we will do better ..

    So in the space of four games we have;

Conceded 6 goals in the first 10 minutes of three separate games.
    Conceded 15 goals.
Conceded two goals in 90+ minutes after fighting back to equalise.

Mason needs to make a very very public show of binning Dier and co, he is an interim manager, there will be minimal fallout for him.
These defenders need to have their contracts ripped up. The talk of rewarding Dier with a new contract is absolutely laughable. Get him out of the club immediately.

If Kane doesn't leave us this summer, he is the most blindly loyal footballer known to man

He's under contract. I suspect he won't have total control about his imminent future.

If he signs a new contract however then he's an idiot.

Won't really changing the actual running of the club as he's never had much to do with the running of the club. Maybe affects the ownership though.

So thats it, Kane looks to be off. If Ange is not supported in the transfer market now to spend thay cash where we need it (another defender, young striker, potentially defensive midfielder if PEH is off), then Levy needs hounding out of the club.
To sell the defacto club captain, talisman homegrown hero on the eve of the new season with no plans in place would be absolute cowardice from Levy and Enic.

Anyway, Son will likely be our new captain and Maddison will prob get the number 10 jersey. In Big Ange we trust, to dare is to didgeridoo!

Still excited for life under Ange but he's definitely been shafted and I don't expect us to spend much more than we already have. Richarlison to play the number 9 and making up the numbers in defence rather than strengthening where we need to.

We've already spent the money, we may be profitable but not to be able to sign VDV for £50M just because we can.

I've been getting my (bad) news off Reddit so could be over the top.

Source here says €40mso bit less than I quoted.

But remember, we've bought Porro, Kulusevski, Van Der Ven, Maddison, Vicario and Veliz since Christmas...
