Hopefully he's nearly home already. wrapped in cotton wool.

He's bang in form with two managers who suit him to the ground.

England U21's v Northern Ireland. 3-0 to the young Lions

Elliott grabbing a brace with two lovely finishes ,Tyler Morton on his England debut smashing in the first from outside the box and assisted with a slide rule pass to find Harvey for the third.

Three sweet finishes by the Liverpool duo, nice assist for Morton too?

Liverpool lads have filled their boots this international break, must be about 15+ goals between them? Salah 4, Nunez 3, Diaz 2, Dom 2, Elliot 2, Gakpo 1 or was it 2?

Manager raves about 21-year-old Liverpool loanee after his display in 4-1 win last night

Hull City manager Liam Rosenior has praised the form of Liverpool loanee Tyler Morton this season.

Morton has been terrific for Hull since arriving on deadline day, adding a second goal in two games in a 4-1 win over Rotherham last night.
And in post-game quotes via wearehullcity.co.uk, Rosenior claimed that the Liverpool youngster ‘can do everything’ in the midfield.

“Some of his play, honestly. He can do everything as a midfield player,” raved the manager. “When we were recruiting in the summer, he fits completely into the way we want to play.“The beauty with Tyler is he can play deep and he can be just as effective there, but what we’ve seen in training is he can create and score goals.“It was about fitting the functionality of the team around him. He was outstanding.”

This is incredibly encouraging to hear so early into Morton’s spell at Hull. It seems that the 21-year-old has taken things up a notch following last year’s decent season with Blackburn Rovers. At Blackburn, Morton started similarly well but faded off towards the end of the year. Now, the challenge will be to maintain the form that has seen his manager speak so glowingly of him. For the Reds, the England U21 international has always played as the deepest-lying midfield player. It’s this natural ability to sit which means he could be the long-term answer to Liverpool’s defensive midfield problem.

But it’s also now become apparent that Morton can be effective playing further up the field as well. Two goals in two games for Hull and another for England over the past 10 days or so have underlined the attacking side of his game. Now 21, this summer is set to be ‘make or break’ time for Morton at Liverpool. If he can keep earning these kinds of reviews, then he’ll surely be given a chance next season.

ALAN SHEARER: "I always used to love going to Anfield,” he said on the Rest is Football podcast. “I loved the ground. I loved the atmosphere.
“I don't know, maybe I'm wrong but I always felt that you got a bit more respect as a player. If you were a half decent player you got a little bit more respect at Anfield than you did in a lot of grounds.
“They are an incredible football club but very rarely did you come away with anything. But I always enjoyed it because it has a #LFC #alanshearer #LiverpoolFC #anfield #YNWA

Shearer definitely has an affinity for the area, he lived in Southport & then down in Formby when he was at Blackburn, & I know he's mentioned on the podcast he settled well there.

this kids really good, maybe physically slight and maybe not as quick as some but he's a real footballer.

Kind of like harry wilson who scored goals for fun in the u21s. or conor coady who needed to go to league 1 to get his start. That top top level might be or might not be beyond him but theres nothing between the level he is delivering at now and the premier league really.

Thiago susposedly back in the next few weeks/ new year, he'll be like a new signing, despite the shite some speak of the lad he's a pure quality footballer. Can't wait to see him back in the squad.

Who can we play in Europe, I know we have a european squad

Liverpool name Europa League squad - Liverpool FC

Can we play any youth player alongside these? or do they have to be in the "B list"?

Given the injuries we have, we need as many first teamers not playing on Thursday given we have United on Sunday.

Looking at the B list that leaves

    Chambers, Quansah and Bradley
    Scanlon, Koumas and McConnell
    Gordon, Doak and Frauendorf

Clark and Bajcetic out injured still?

Hopefully all start. Think I'll throw a few quid on us losing, now before side is named

    I'd play

    Kelleher

    Bradley---Gomez---Quansah---Chambers

    Elliott---Koumas (if fit?) --- McConnell

    Doak---Gakpo/Nunez---Gordon

Salah will probably play, he'd play 7 games a week if asked haha

One player I just absolutely love seeing in a red shirt and on that first eleven team sheet , step forward Mr Thiago Alcántara Do Nascimento.

Apparently we're looking to cut short Phillips loan at Aberdeen to cover the central defence injury issues.

Having had a look up these are the UEFA rules on registering players on list B...

So looking at that it seems we can add anyone who qualifies until midnight tomorrow? Nyoni wouldn't qualify unfortunately as he only joined the club in the summer, but there are probably a few other youngsters we could add

Truly wonderful footballer, with his injuries his quality seems to have gone under the radar. We're now in a position where we don't have to rely on him & play him into the ground anymore, I think 6 months of a Thiago who can be kept fresh is a lovely, potentially vital, bonus we can add to the rest of our season. If nothing else, I'll just be grateful of seeing a final 6 months of that glorious little maestro in the red.

Is that Rhys Williams? He's at Aberdeen & hasn't even made a squad for a league game there yet, played one cup game. Short term emergency cover ok, but honestly he's unfortunately just not good enough, we should be moving him on & Quansah rightly getting minutes. I'd much rather play Bradley at RB & use Gomez as a CB option than be using Williams again.

It unfortunately seems that Phillips hasn't been pulling up many trees at Celtic either (to put it kindly - he's been getting pelters from what I've seen online), but he's only on an initial loan until January so he may also end up back here too.
