The problem with Carvalho is he seems like a natural 10 but that position is virtually dead for a lot of modern teams. He's not quick/productive enough as a wide forward at this level and he's not strong enough/fit enough for an 8 so he's left in limbo really. He'll almost certainly be shipped out. I think his attitude in the summer all but confirmed that really.

Yeah that's the biggest problem I do think he'd be a good utility forward for us given he's quite versatile but he doesn't really excel anywhere but #10 which we don't play with so it's difficult. Very annoying too because he's obviously really talented and you look at how Harvey has gone on and he's knocking on the door of the starting 11...what could have been eh.

It must be hard for him seeing Elliott find his way into the team. They're both quite similar but Elliott seems to have caught Klopp's eye and his versatility has him close to becoming a starter.

    carvalho is like Harry Wilson.

if our Harry can make a career for himself them so can carvalho.

I'd say just go to a championship club who is good enough to bounce up amd down lol.

in fact quite why the kid ever left one of those I don't know.

Mentality probably plays a part too Harvey seems so driven to just play for us and succeed he works his bollocks off to the point where it's getting harder and harder to overlook him.

Salah & Endo both off on international travels.

Salah now on 150 league goals for us. He's only missed 10 league games in 6&1/2 seasons. I think this season has become the one where I've truly appreciated how we've got an actual legend of the game strutting his stuff for us week in week out and is still the best about.

Our best ever player for me. Didn't see Kenny era but he's definitely the best we've had in the premier league.

Hard to argue against Mo. Especially in the modern era and the longevity and consistency he's shown. It's between him, van Dijk, Suarez, Gerrard and Alisson for me. In terms of pure ability, I don't think I've seen anyone better than Suarez.

Suarez given the same length of time Mo has had would have put up insane numbers. Both very similar in their consistency both in performance and availability. Even when they have "bad games" they are usually walking away having scored a goal or picked up an assist.

Salah has a big shot at becoming a top 3 all time Premier League goalscorer if he stays beyond his contract expiry. 209 goals to overtake Rooney. He's on 153 currently. 46 goals to do it. I think to do that having played his career here as a winger would be such an impressive accomplishment.

Also noticed James Milner is 22 appearances off becoming the all-time leader.

Salah is an incredible talent, it's going to be tough to replace those numbers when he finally leaves.

I think he will reach Rooneys numbers if he stays after this season, as 46 is definitely achievable.

46 more is achievable but would still be behind Rooney

Excuse my bad math, needs 56 to move into 3rd. 62 to go into 2nd ahead of Kane.

Will definitely do both if he stays. Need to get him a new contract. I don't care about his age or resale value afterwards. He's not replaceable.

Resale value doesn't really matter too much from an accounting point of view. Signed for £35m iirc. That's been paid off and more.

Obviously the question is the reinvestment value of selling him if Saudi are still thinking of putting in a silly bid.

Yeah but in the end every player ages out. I think we've heard this story before with gerrard etc. Eventually vvd and salah will be replaced.

his numbers as we speak are RIDICULOUS. 14 goals and 8 assists in 20 games. He is signed until 2025 and he will be 33 then.

From what i heard he'd be happy to sign another 12months to keep his family and kids in education.

I'd be easy about this one. at some point he just falls apart but i suspect we will be ok for another 18months and even lose him on a free if he chooses the saudi route. I don't think we will sell.

Klopp must sense an injury crisis coming. Going to win the league with Nat Phillips + Rhys Williams CB partnership x

I don't see it myself as he cannot be fit in time. endo is effective at what he does for now. Can Thiago get into those intercepting and breaking up play type of positions for 90mins?

Pinging passes is not the main role right now imo. It'd be nice to see him stood between konate and vvd directing things but when a fast break needs stopping?

Kostas Tsimikas with some very encouraging Instagram posts, back running & gym work already. No idea how long that will prove to be, but seems the worst fears should be allayed with Robertson not very long off returning either.
