Well done Sheffield Weds and Plymouth. See you next season! Birmingham do hope that if Mowbray comes back he brings you back up - still a fan favorite around our parts. Off to lie down!
Also well done to Sheffield Wednesday, who looked dead and buried at Christmas, a great end to the season, and looking forward to 2 away days in south Yorkshire next season.
Feel for the Birmingham fans on here who seen to be great lads, I think u will enjoy division 1, and blame Rooney for your relagation, and your board for sacking Eustace. That decision has come back to bite you on your arse.
Well that was unexpected, we never win the last match of the season in the Championship. Well done to the 1500 odd Cardiff fans who stayed to the end to thank their players for their efforts this season, it would have been easy to bugger off early having seen your team humped by the bottom of the league club with only 4 wins previously. Today we had a go, hopefully a bit of what we can expect from Steve Evans, playing 3 centre forwards and just going for it. Again only 4 outfield subs (one of them a Youth team player) shows that quite a few are done with the club. A great end to his career at NYS for Victor Johansson who came on in injury time and was promptly awarded man of the match by the sponsors. He was then presented with the Player of the season and Player's Player awards. It's been a privilege to see him develop into a fine GK, I hope he gets the move he richly deserves. Commiserations to Blues and Hudder's fans, we'll see you next season, hopefully a better one for all of us. Congratulations to Plymouth and Blackburn for escaping. Special mention for Sheffield Wednesday who have deservedly turned their form around and impressively improved as the season has gone on. Although obviously I would have liked them to come down with us it looks like our local derby will be Barnsley next season, and maybe even Donny! Farewell Championship, here's to the next time!
Our CEO, the wonderful and wise Garry Cook, has written a letter to the fans, the second paragraph of which reads; “I deeply regret that in some areas we have fallen short of the expectations we all had for this season. Some mistakes have been made and we will learn from them and take the necessary actions to ensure they never happen again.” There’s one way of ensuring they never happen again and that’s if you **** off and go. Now. Of the 13 games Blues won this season, five were achieved under Eustace when we were sixth in the league in October. And Cook thought it’d be a good idea to sack him and bring in Rooney. I’m amazed he’s still got a job..
Some mistakes? That's quite the understatement. I didn't see the logic in sacking Eustace at the time and stuck a few quid on you to drop when I watched you on Sky at Coventry back in November. Binning Eustace doesn't just look a mistake now. It looks utterly catastrophic.
