Possibly put these up a bit early with a big game for Ipswich tonight? Birmingham City v Norwich City Coventry City v Queens Park Rangers Ipswich Town v Huddersfield Town Leeds United v Southampton Leicester City v Blackburn Rovers Middlesbrough v Watford Plymouth Argyle v Hull City Rotherham United v Cardiff City Stoke City v Bristol City Sunderland v Sheffield Wednesday Swansea City v Millwall West Bromwich Albion v Preston North End
Big battles at Boro and Swansea for the mid table places. Ipswich to go up. Plymouth relegated after Birmingham sneak a win v Norwich.
Another Preston nil. Opposition, who knows? We'll play for a 0-0 and still ship a minimum of two. They must do absolutely nothing in training, there is no tactical shape, a style or pattern of play, or whatever else a manager is supposed to work on. We sit back, go long to the byline, and try to win the ball back from a throw in. That is it. It's not even a lower league system, it's amateur.
An absolutely EPIC match in Stoke on Saturday in the battle for 11th. Never felt this nervous before, can't sleep already, come on City don't let me down, 11th would mean so so much
Hmm add a winning goal via Will Keane's arse and I like this enough. Big one at Home Park. Probably more for Plymouth than us, but as long as we have a chance we have to go for it. I wouldn't be able to fault this side for failing to make the play-offs on 73 points.
You're being sarcastic but after six consecutive bottom half finishes I'd be pretty chuffed with 11th next season and it would feel like decent progress
Who gives a ****, we are staying up! 2 sides, nothing to play for. We'll both either just go out and have fun, 3-3. Or neither team will care and be a dull 0-0.
Last game in the Championship for who knows how long. I'm not feeling particularly bothered TBF, it's hard work going when you are losing most weeks. Smaller away followings mean it's going to be easier to get in the pub and it gives us a chance for a reset and get back to playing a proper Rotherham style instead of all this trying to pass sideways and backwards crap with players not good enough to carry it off. Welcome to Cardiff City fans, hope you enjoy your visit, there is no monsoon forecast this time just a 17% chance of rain! Over and out.
Hopefully we will play for the win rather than the draw. If we lose against these lot then we deserve to not qualify for play offs. I reckon Hull will win at Plymouth. Hopefully drop the idea of Wallace up front and go with asante or maja
Swansea are currently 13th, but we want to finish top of the bottom half. Exciting right until the end.
At least you've got basically nothing to play for too. Best you can achieve is staving off League 1 for another year
Any other year dropping down to L1 wouldn’t be so bad, it’s an occupational hazard that we blues fans crack on with, but it’ll be harder to take this year, what with all the optimism from the new owners and the huge plans they have for the club. I’m moving back to the UK next year and I was hoping I’d be brushing shoulders with Tom Brady at a couple of games, but preferably not at Burton or Shrewsbury (as nice as an away day at Shrewsbury is)..
That, along with the direction the season was heading all those months ago. Riding high in the playoffs and then making that utterly ludicrous decision to bring Rooney in. I'm not saying Eustace staying guaranteed success, it probably wouldn't have done, but it would have guaranteed a much more comfortable season, that's for sure
Even having Mowbray for a game or two more before he went on sick leave, or getting rid of Venus before he wreaked havoc for six games. It's fine margins and all that, every club down the bottom could say the same thing, but not about Mowbray or Venus though..
Whereas for us, we needed to stay up. With the extra revenue from Sky (is it something like £6m extra this time?), we needed it for our FFP as we are very close to breaking it.
We have lost 2 league games at Portman Road since December 2021. Why do I feel so stressed about the weekend
