Been a bit of a weird season for strikers. We got Nacho out of contract this summer, and he wasnt performing this season, but even so he was given chances ahead of Cannon. Daka hit some form for a period so had a run of games, but this dropped off and then he got replaced by Vardy. Vardy been our best performing striker this season and I think is currently negotiating a contract extension, as he is out of contract this summer. Enzo I think hasnt played 2 strikers all season, the odd game when he had 2 on the pitch, the other would be playing a non striker role. Cannon has also had injuries. Personally I think Cannon has showed promise and with Nacho gone next season I would be surprised if we loaned him out. Depends if we happy enough to go into next season with only 2 first team strikers or want 3 available.
As much as I love him and want him to sign an extension, there’s no way we can rely on him as our main striker.
Silly money was probably the wrong term to be fair. I don’t know how much we can spend in the Summer due to FFP etc. so I was thinking more along the lines of paying out a decent fee for him that then doesn’t leave much left. I am also thinking that as you are now PL again that his fee would rise. What is your gut feeling on how much you would ask for him?
Apparently we wanted £6m last summer and turned down an offer of £4m from Palace but his value can't have held. I'd take an offer of £4m with add ones and a sell on for him, he's never going to play for us again so it's pointless holding on to him
So you’re saying as you already have 3 keepers and hopefully looking to sign another that you definitely don’t need Lo-Tutala ?
Unless we’re buying another striker, which doesn’t make sense seeing as what we paid for him, I think he’ll get more opportunities next year. He’s hardly had any time to develop with us.
He'll spend the first half of next season on the fringes before getting loaned out, then be a decent money signing for a club that get relegated next season.
Heard Jake Clark Salter to Stoke today. £8m. Not quite sure how any club without parachute payments can afford that?! Id sell for that though. We have to buy cheap, sell high.
£8m seems a bit mad for a defender who is 27 this year, but guess I shouldn't be surprised in this league any more. The fact we let Ben Davies' contract run down and got £600k is ****ing criminal. Ridsdale is ****ing useless, same happened with Ben Pearson, Daniel, Johnson, and now Alan Browne. Probably a combined £20m at their peak price and under contract, £30m including Davies.
Christ, I know he was young and we were abysmal when he came here but that seems a mental price for him. He must be performing with you if that’s what he’s valued at.
Apparently we're in for Browne (if only to finally break our hoodoo at Deepdale ), though the crazy rumours he was at our training ground is nonsense. Thoughts on him?
Few players out of contract for us including kipre. Has prem interest and European interest apparently so will more than likely reject out offer
We have some decent Championship players out of contract this summer. Dimi Giannoulis Ben Gibson Sam McCallum - We've heard some talk about this one getting renewed. Jacob Sorensen - Will probably see his club year option triggered. Danny Batth
We have mowatt, kipre. Pipa, reach, Phillips, chalobah, mvilla, pieters, Kelly. Loans ending for weimann and Johnston. Maybe extend Phillips for a year but sell him for a few quid. The rest worth **** all. Release them all except mowatt and kipre. Like Johnston on a permanent but don't think we could afford him.
We have billionaire owners so could easily afford it. Owners aren’t allowed to spend it though. I saw this rumour the other day but didn’t post it because at that price I just can’t see it happening.
A good midfielder at this level. Best played in the 10 position and asked to press, scored double figures one season when playing that role. Lots of energy and aggression. Shows how much we ****ed him about if he joins a club who only finished a point above us.
