I mean, even Leicester's midfield is better than ours Edit: Fabinho is good and Jones is young, but the others just aren't up to a title contender's standard
We will probably end up playing 2 of Hendo, Fab and Thiago along with Carvalho in a slightly more attacking role. Like Muller said, hopefully Bellingham comes in next summer so no need to spend a lot on another midfielder now.
Tielemans, Maddison, Barnes, for god sake even ndidi would be an upgrade (Not on Fabinho though he's better than all of them)
Who are the last two? (A quick google search reveals that they are youth players but Bajcetic doesn't even have a wiki page) The main point isn't that they have a lack of midfield options, it's that they have a lack of good ones (apart from Fabinho). Oxlade-Chamberlain is injured, just don't think that Carvalho's good enough, Milner and Henderson are getting on in age, Elliot primarily plays as a winger, Jones needs a bit more experience. Thiago and Keita are the obvious choices now but I just don't think that they are good enough for a Premier League team contending for the champion spot.
I think you may be surprised when you see him play as you obviously have not. Elliott was also used on the right of the 3 man midfield before he got injured although yes i take your point his primary position is on the wing.
Just don't think that Carvalho and Fabinho will play well together. Fair enough if Bellingham's coming next summer and Jones improves/ Elliot gets converted to a midfielder than it will all be good.
I'd say we're more in need of a good box to box or creative midfielder, personally. Naby really should be that on paper. Hopefully a more consistent season this year from him.
We're well equipped in the midfield department ,bringing in a midfielder would only serve in stagnating the burgeoning potential of Bajetic, Elliott and Carvalho. I've been pleasantly surprised with how comfortable Bajetic looks in the middle and it will be interesting to see how he works with Fab and Thiago in there ,he's definitely got the technical qualities to flourish when he's working with a World class midfield ? Time will tell, but I think the manager has every intention of integrating the three players I've mentioned over the course of this season.
No, he's your mate Monkey, we know x He's absolutely no way a Liverpool fan. He was saying the other day Jones should start ahead of Thiago WUM account imo.
