The scenes in Glasgow...amazing fans. I believe theres plans for the whole end to be like that for the mens games. It'll be amazing.
Chelsea - 52 points Manchester United - 50 points Arsenal - 47 points Manchester City - 44 points Top 3 are European spots. Tottenham - 14 points Leicester - 13 points Reading - 11 points Two league games left but the fixtures this weekend mean this is probably the decisive weekend of the season. Tottenham v Reading Chelsea v Arsenal Manchester United v Manchester City Spurs play at White Hart Lane immediately following the men's game so might see an increased crowd there. It'll be needed. Spurs goal difference is enough that they might well stay up even with a defeat but the home advantage hopefully means Spurs take at least a point. Realistically Arsenal have too much to do to win the league but can potentially scupper the favourites from winning the league again.
Well that's Reading basically down. No chance of beating Chelsea on last game with them fighting for the title (if it even gets that far). Reading had a few years of being the 4th/5th best Womens team in the country, but now the Premier League clubs are putting the money into the Womens game there's no competition, and relegation was going to inevitably happen soon. And with the Men's team relegated to League One, we would have to cut budgets to Women's team and be even weaker next season. Double relegation season..
Good news for Saints in the womens championship then if you won't be much of a force next year. We had a good debut season after promotion finishing 6th conceding only 15 in 22 games, second best defence in the league.
Man U score in the last minute to take the title race to the last day. In Scotland Glasgow won the title in injury time at Rangers to dent Celtic the Championship!
It's already over though really, Reading won't be able to do anything against Chelsea who will probably win by 7 or more goals. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
I watched the United v city game, a last gasp win for United and their first ever win over city, but as @saint_clark says above it's pretty nailed on that Chelsea have another title. Nevertheless this relatively new United team are growing each season, depends if they can keep their best players and add to the squad over the summer.
Double relegation for Reading both the mens and ladies teams Part of me hopes that the management will learn something from this - the logical part of me knows there is no chance of lessons being learnt
Fans have branded comments made by a Man United executive as 'sexist' and 'embarrassing' after he told a star player he wouldn't hand a trophy to her because it was 'really heavy.' The cringe-worthy exchange between United Women's star Alessia Russo and club charity exec, John Shiels, has been circulating on social media after Russo was handed the player of the year gong at the club's end-of-season award ceremony on Monday night. Taking to Twitter, Shiels apologised to the England international and her teammates, saying he was 'mortified' by the offence caused and 'upset' that his comments were misconstrued. Man Utd exec refuses to pass trophy to women's star because it's 'really heavy'
Made himself look an absolute tit, not sure it warrants the attention it got though. Just an idiot making an idiotic comment.
Confirmed by the club today that following relegation the Women’s team will now be going part time. Disappointing but fully understandable, make a £1.2m loss a season which with the Men’s team now being in League One makes it even more unsustainable. Means probably need to recruit an entire team and a new manager so won’t expect to bounce back.
Sad reflection of the women's game. As much as Hayes and other individuals in the women's game want more money, stuff like VAR and whatever.. this shows that it's not yet feasible for all clubs in the women's game. It's one thing having the elite clubs prop up their loss-making women's clubs but not all men's teams can afford to do that. The WSL is very much a Super League and only for the wealthy. It's a shame Reading have to turn to going part time but in the chase for equality / parity with the men's game there will be clubs left behind. The losses aren't sustainable for a lot of clubs in this league. The fact that even the successful clubs run at a loss says it all.
Still haven't sorted out the TV rights for the world cup I see, FIFA seriously misjudged this. Trying to sell them for as close to the mens game gets as possible and then criticising the footballing bodies that don't want to lose money hand over fist paying it saying that it proves how sexist they are. If you want to grow the game, continue showing it to as many people as possible, don't price out the nations where it's growing fastest.
Exactly - typical FIFA chasing the money for an event which will be played over night and early morning in Europe with a lot of mis-matches as the number of teams have been increased.
