Glad the poor people in the stadium got to see that beauty as the rest has been dreadful. Enough of Rashford now please.
Not sure what is the benefit of Rashford playing both these games could have had a look at Hudson Odoi or something (would have to call him up though)
120 mins of him doing nothing apart from crossing it to opposition players. He's there purely on reputation. Has to be Eze or MGW on for him at HT.
Liked the approach. Bit low on big chances but any half decently coached team putting ten men in their third will be tough to break down. That’s where set pieces come in big. But I’ve liked the speed of play. Slow and plodding is a phrase that gets used a lot in international football and I’ve not seen that. Get the ball, touch, pass. Get the ball, touch, pass. Execution hasn’t been great but I can get behind the intent.
Thank god we are back in League A of the Nation's league so we at least have a game against a side that wants to play against us. Not blaming Latvia by the way, would be suicide for them to come out and attack us.
I agree with the Rashford comments , his final ball & decision making has been poor , as for Latvia , it's just about not being embarrassed for them unlike their women's team who England women beat 20-0 around 5/6 years ago .
When did Latvia become so shit? Seems not so long ago since they reached the Euros, and that was in the glory days when only 16 teams qualified.
Can almost forgive James his stoppage time equaliser against us this season after that Rashford slowing things down too much trying to over complicate it. Keep it simple lad, run at the defender and whip it in, keep attacks moving.
Tuchel / Southgate = " Same Ol' Same Ol' " Everything possession based & so slow , no bravery in our play , but we're winning & it's 3 points .
I remember growing up all the talk of Bobby Charlton's 49 goal England record, how impressive it was (still is), and the procession of strikers who couldn't reach it for decades, until Rooney. Harry Kane's at 71. Truly outstanding record for England.
