As a fairly well travelled couple in our later 60s, we also put BA at the top of our city list - for most the reasons above (especially music/culture) plus the wildlife, landscapes and seascapes. The wife (only half jokingly) keeps trying to persuade me to move to Uruguay (which has similar features but with a settled sensible govt/economy and easy access to Argentina) as an escape from what England is becoming.
