What might help this season though is the season finishes over 2 weeks later. Could make the difference between getting played at the Shay or having to play them in Lancashire or Derbyshire again.
Braintree going for it… Either they’ve had some serious investment come in, or this is all going to horribly wrong come early 2025.
Really struggled to stay fit last season. Wish him well as he is a good lad but this is a bit of a boom or bust signing for them specially on a two year. Why he turned down Bromley in March I’ll never know.
We're obviously in need of a right back, have more inside knowledge of this league than most in L2, and just let Connor Barrett go to another team. Annoyed about that, he's just what we need there.
I've no idea where this has come from for Braintree. They haven't had a change of ownership and their chairman has been frugal when they've been at this level previously
Is it just me that thinks paiding mega bucks for players like effiong spells disaster? Nothing against the guy but if hes your big money signing you want him playing 40+ games and getting minimum 15-20 goals for a striker. Can he honestly produce that?
Woudn’t be shocked if you are in for Golden. I’d say he’s a better version of Jeff King. Probably not just as good going forward, but a lot better defensively. Also loves a yellow card.
That's a huge signing for Braintree! A guaranteed goalscorer at this level who has improved with age. When he left us for Dagenham, a big reason was the location factor. He lives in Essex so I am sure this is a move based on convenience as much as anything. 2 year deal as well- not many 33 year olds get that at this level. He'll no doubt be Braintree's highest earner- but I am sure he'll be taking a pay cut from the Daggers.
He’s taken security on a two year deal over a 1 + 1 option with us, be the last two year he gets as a professional. Was on about £1500 a week with us, guess the deal at Braintree is less weekly but better guarantee financially for him and his young family over the 2 years. If he plays 30 games his goals should keep them up, good business for them of it does as they build into full time. The last of the big earners we had left now gone.
Contract ripped up at Oldham and signs for Barnet. Generally well liked at Pools, was a grafter and a key part of our promotion side from this league.
