Every child that turns up to the trials gets in a squad. I do not believe that is a proper academy relaunching, whatever the club call it.
Can't be an academy in the true sense of the word, as you say, because the academy could offer scholarships, a centre of excellence can't. However, it does offer us a youth set up that could be turned into academy status quite easily if we get a place back in the EFL in the future.
Just picked up on this one. I hope he's not the trialist keeper we had in the pre season on Saturday. Or if he is, that was an unusually poor game for the lad. Yikes. Anyways, good luck to him and I hope it turns out as well as Moulden's loan did last season.
Lachlan Byrd signed from Welling, big 6ft 4 centre back, was their POTS last year. Think we’ll bring in one more striker then we’ll be done
Decent signing for Ebbsfleet that. A real handful of a striker who occupies defenders and pops up with vital goals. He won't score loads, but will create space for others. We offered him a new deal but he rejected it, so I assumed he would end up back Nottingham way. Imagine you've just come in with a better offer.
Decent signing. Think he was the most-used substitute in the league last season, must have come on in about three quarters of our games. You’re getting a lad who’ll give 100%, put himself about, will get himself into the right positions and score a few goals, without ever setting the world alight. Wins a lot of headers too. Ebbsfleet building up quite the team in terms of size - Cordner and Thomas will be a handful from corners!
Jayden Mundle-Smith re-signs for Wealdstone. Surely destined for the EFL before a holiday injury has put him out for around two months.
General consensus in Wrexham was that he was a very dependable NL striker, and in the COVID season he was good for us until a season ending injury we were amazed with his spell in Scotland and subsequently in L2 with Sutton, but it's all #godsplan (you will need to get used to that hashtag)
