Stopped playing after I lost all enjoyment during my virtual pro career mode at Sampdoria where we conceded 136 goals in a season.

    Yes. 136 goals.

It's wank. Even coming for 'free' on PS+ it's not worth playing.

I packed it in after a week, gameplay is horrific. Think eFootball has a better offering, particularly for free, it just lacks the licensing and depth of EA.

Do you want online play, or single player? If it's online, I think there is no good solution right now. For offline though, PES 21 has so many amazing mods and is night and day compared to anything FIFA/EAS FC can offer.

I only do online when I play now, I have FM for the offline stuff. I need to widen my gaming outside of sport

2K has purchased the rights of FIFA.

If anyone here has played NBA2K, this is huge news....

I've not played NBA2K, so what do you think would be (positively) different from the EA Sports days?

Apparently the general theme of their games is that they’ll make microtransactions in old FIFAs look like child’s play. They’re meant to be horrific.

Also a little bit alarming that they’re pushing a game out later this year. EA only lost the licence a year ago so that’s ridiculously quick to build a game from the ground up.

Maybe it was in the pipeline and they’d been working on it for years but I’m not remotely hopeful.

Either way a little competition for EA won’t be a bad thing, they basically have a monopoly on football games.

It's good news for any Career Mode/Virtual Pro players as the 2K series genuinely had a main focus on that with their NBA/WWE Franchises. (None of that Alex Hunter garbage).

The fact they have a game releasing this year worries me...

Some competition for EA finally. Actually reasonably excited for this. Fifa has been dogshit for a decade now if we're being honest.

Hmmm. The PGA2K version is very much pay to win in comparison to TGC (which did have micro-transactions but not to improve your player), so there would undoubtedly be an element of that but their games are generally rated highly.

Unfortunately, the big game mode is Ultimate Team. And if 2K doesn't nail that, the majority of people won't play it.

Power to you if in this day in age you still play the atrocity that is ultimate team. (Not saying you do).

Hopefully 2K will be known for Career Mode/Virtual Pro.

I just think you're underestimating just how many people play it. It's the money maker for EA, it'll be the money maker for 2K.

Shit but that's the way it is.

Honestly, why should I be surprised? The menus in career mode are absolutely horrific. Why couldn’t that just stay the same? They’re impossible to navigate and look utter shit.

I’m not a FUT guy and probably never will be so it doesn’t interest me, but they’ve used the same shitty cut scenes for signings for the third or fourth year running too. It’s embarrassing

Got the 10 hour trial on ea play. Still feels like the exact same game tbh, I did enjoy the new FUT rush mode but not enough to pay 80€. Another skip for me.

game is fine and i am one of the many suckers that will get it year on year (until a suitable rival appears)

managed to find it for £50 on release day, but terrible problems connecting on day 1.

Im all about career mode, but not being able to connect to EA servers meant no squad downloads etc. but it seems to be ok now.

Is Portman Road in it yet or is it being patched in later? That's the only time i'll get it or hope it comes on PS+ at some point.
