they are both doing well but take off the points deductions and Everton would be up around 11th and 12th or thereabouts. their defense and goals against record is good enough to be up with top 6. they just lack quality going forward consistently.
I don't like this mentality, It's like when I hear people say they're glad they got knocked out in a semi-final because they'd probably lose the final anyway. I'd much rather go to the final day and feel the heartbreak than have nothing to play for at all. Yeah, Klopp was constantly on the fourth officials case for most of the game, I doubt he would waste his breath on those clowns if he didn't care. By the end I think he was just resigned to the fact we are pretty much out of the title race. It's a shame the first half ended when it did as I thought we were really knocking on the door, but the second half we looked clueless and barely created anything.
But not everyone has the fact their legendary manager is leaving at the end of the season and they must deliver a quad for him... Cant wait to see how your lot deal with Peps announcement next season
Yeah, I mentioned that at half time, 10/15 mins before the break we seemed to finally start clicking and were passing Everton off the field...but you just knew the half time break would spoil that. Second half, we just ran out of ideas.
A big worry when a team ends the season poorly is it can bleed into the following season to, which would put the new manager under an intense pressure going in.
Wondering what it's like in the City of Liverpool this morning with Blues fans having had to take so much stick over the years from the Red half and most of the Liverpool on here wallowing in their troubles, it's a day to get their own back for a while.
You've failed anyway. No one takes any of your silverware seriously. And I suspect, deep down, most City fans know it's all tainted too and ultimately doesn't mean a whole lot.
I think it might be more than a day, I suspect it will go down in Everton folklore if the Reds fail to win the Premier.
The annoying thing is, even the most ardent, delusional Liverpool fan can't claim Everton didn't deserve the win (although I'm sure there are some idiots out there doing exactly that). They're a middtable team at their best, and despite that made us look ordinary. We deserve f**k all this season. Every blueshite I know (and I know a lot of them) would have chosen last night over silverware. Tells you everything you need to know about them.
