It is all about opinions but how can you dismiss Kahn at club level? Won 8 x League titles, 6 Cups, CL Winner, UEFA Cup Winner. 4 x Europes Best GK 3 x Worlds Best GK 2 x German Footballer of the Year 2 x Ballon d'Or 3rd place also CL MOM on top of his World Cup exploits.
IMO. If Casillas was still at Madrid now he wouldn't be viewed as badly as he is. Going to Porto has hurt his legacy.
Since the year 2011, the performances of Casillas decreased so much and he started to be very irregular. He never went back to be one of the best GK, even he didn't appear among the best 5 GKs. For that reason he was sent to the bench and then sold. On the other hand, Oliver Kahn was more regular and consistent throughout his career and reached higher peaks no doubt. He also was more solid and more complete.
Kahn was unbelievable. Sure he is the only GK to win the Golden Ball at the World Cup? Virtually took Germany to the final single-handedly.
Fair enough mate. For me, Casillias was a brilliant keeper but he faded so quickly he actually became a bit of a laughing stock towards the end of his time at Madrid.
The one thing Kahn used to be criticised for was his lack of penalty saves, so then he saves 3 in the CL Final shoot out v Valencia !
