Trust me, it would be classic Bradford City to have a chance and then lost at home to a team with 7 consecutive defeats. Just look at the FGR & Notts losses last month
Such an unreal game. 1st half Barrow were very clearly playing for a point, been a long time since I’ve seen a flat back 5 without wingbacks executed it perfectly though and we couldn’t deal with Acquah. 2nd half they came out and upped the shithousery. Biggins coming on for Westbrooke was a great change, but then McCann threw the kitchen sink at it. Triple sub, playing with a back 3 with no kind of full backs/wing backs and just piled players forward. Hurst added width and directness, Rowe was winning everything battling away up the pitch and we just dominated from then on. I had to look at the end of the game to see who scored the last two because I was too busy celebrating to actually take it in! Bunch of sniffed up dickheads as usual taking it too far and invading the pitch, but it restores your faith when they then get booed by the rest of the crowd. Still in shock, what a performance in that second half and what a team. Even if it’s all for nothing and we balls it up from here, this squad has given us a lot to be proud of and some brilliant wins
Wouldn't shock me in the slightest, however I feel it will be the farewell game for a few players so you should be good.
What a day! Watched the Donny game as I'd really like to see them come up with us (Wxm) Really weird not having my insides tied-up in knots on a late-season Saturday! Yep, we'd tonked an injury-hit Crewe Alex side earlier...but that didn't matter now anyway) This game, we all love though....bloody hell! I had umpteen matches - that made a difference somewhere, enabled on my notifications. I couldn't put my phone down as it was constantly 'pinging' with alerts! Roll-on next Sat....hope you all survive it.
McCann been getting plenty of positive mentions from our owner , current manager & half our fanbase who think he'll be back in 18 months time , surely it's Steve Evans go again Good luck for rest of season , hope you smash Fake Dons at Wembley in the final , or a last minute winner will do
Big night tonight, very nervous as this is the game in hand we’ve been waiting for. Colchester still after a point to confirm survival but their goal difference would require a big swing to go down even if they lost both games and Sutton win on Saturday McCann suspended from the touch line after his celebrations at the weekend but hopefully we can make it 10 in a row
Big night for us as well, I expect you'll be cheering us on as we can't catch you but you will go above Barrow should we both win. I had given up on this season and haven't been since Good Friday, which weirdly is when we decided to put this run together (DWWW). The glory supporter in me has decided to go up to Barrow tonight now we're back in with a chance, so if the run does come to an end I think I'd best sell next seasons ST City & Donny wins tonight and it'll be a 5 way battle for 3 spots on Saturday, although I fully expect us to bottle it tonight now we have another chance.
Another one! Equaled our most wins in a row record now. Still don't feel comfortable in the play offs, we have a history of bottling final days too, hopefully we can get that final Saturday win, even though we need only a point. Hopefully Bradford don't get in the play offs, we've struggled against them since we've come down to League Two.
It would be ridiculous if you don't make it now considering what would have to go against you on Saturday for that to be the case. That said, it's crazy that six teams are still in the hunt for three spots going to the final day.
10 in a bloody row, unreal. Echo what @DonnyOsmond has said above, purely out of selfishness I hope Bradford don’t get in because they’re the only team we seem to struggle against. We always seem to beat MK Dons so I’d actually be more confident if we finished 7th and had to play them over two legs Also hope Mo Faal has enjoyed his time moving to a club higher up the league
Booooooom. Played like Brazil first half, played like Park Avenue second but we somehow stayed in the game and got the winner. I would say undeserved but we really were brilliant first 45 and over the 90 would say we did deserve it. Now for Mansfield and Grimsby to do us a huge favour on Saturday. If you’d said we’d be in this position after the Harrogate game last month I’d have asked what you was smoking. Madness
This last minute penalty could end up being so key for both teams ! Sutton United 1-1 Doncaster Rovers
Looking at the games on Saturday I think the playoff places will be:- 4th MKD (80 pts), 5th Doncaster (73 pts), 6th Crewe (73 pts), 7th Crawley (70 pts). I expect Bradford will win, but be on 69 pts and just miss out. Barrow will end up on 68 pts and drop out the playoffs. So it could be Crewe vs Doncaster on 6th May and Doncaster vs Crewe on 10th May. We'll see how it really does finish up. Exciting times and anything possible.
Grimsby manager saying in his press conference it's a good chance to see players they haven't really seen this season isn't a good sign, but saying that their first team have got them to 21st so hopefully the fringe players actually give it a go and try show the manager they deserve a chance. Trying to work out what the worst way to miss out would be.... it's either Barrow & Crawley losing and us doing a classic Bradford City and failing to beat Newport, or to absolutely coast our game and Crawley getting a last minute winner... We're the outsiders tomorrow and whatever happens we have had a brilliant last month to get in this position. Come on Mansfield & Grimsby!
Good luck to Donny & Bradford tomorrow trying to secure play off spots . I reckon 3 of the 4 will remain the same & Crawley will swap places with Crewe for the remaining one though I'm bound to be wrong .
We may be coming into today off the back of a win but, having read that we haven't won consecutive league games all season, I wouldn't be pinning too many hopes on us if I were you. That said, our results since the Doncaster hammering in mid-February are the equivalent of top half form so I don't entirely rule out us getting something even if Danilo Orsi will inevitably haunt us again at some point. As for selection, we seemed a bit low on numbers for last week's game so I'm not sure I'd read too much into whatever's been said. My guess would be that a couple of youngsters, probably Evan Khouri in midfield and Jamie Bramwell at the back, would feature but wholesale changes are probably unlikely.
