Tough to get up for this one when we know we are finishing 3rd would be nice to beat them after the disgrace in the reverse fixture but I'd be content with just a good showing here. I'll go 3-1 but could be easily the reverse scoreline given we are on the beach.
Yup, it will be annoying to be doubled (well, one-and-and-a-halved would be more accurate after the joke of a WHL fixture) by a team as average as Spurs but we're dogshit at the moment. We might scrape a draw if the players decide to put a shift in, but otherwise another home loss. 1-2
My first time back in our yard for over a month and Jurgen's penultimate game at Anfield until we round it up with Wolves. Hopefully it's a win and convincing one at best ,the players have looked jaded and it's the right time to get back on track by winning our last three games. I mean if the players cant raise their game to the level the fans expect for the last three games then they don't merit the shirt on their back. I envisage Spurs on the front foot right from the get go ,so possibly that might suit us. I'm not going to comment about certain players attitudes or their extensively publicized profligacy in front of goal because these things happen,but this is different now and the pressure is off and we can hopefully play the kind of football this club has been synonymous with since Jurgen's arrival.
In the same way Liverpool can still win the league with three wins. Dead rubber end of game season. Home banker. Salah to score as he always does.
You're a side capable of putting long winning runs together. We've been inconsistent for most of the season. I don't know how many times we've put four wins in a row together in the last five years which is what is needed for fourth plus Villa dropping points. Edit* ultimately my point was neither are going to do it. It's a dead rubber that nobody cares about.
Agree with your last point but I'd say you have a better chance than we do given Villa have 3 tough games. You'd have to win today though.
Third place assured, now we have a chance to dictate who finishes 4th as our next two games are, Spurs and Villa. Personally hope we give Spurs a good spanking today, not that I have anything against them, I want some kind of revenge for "that" game.
Hoping for at least some entertaining attacking football. Some drama and a high scoring game too would be nice. It's been like watching paint dry with us recently.
