Yes, but the Referee had taken it away after watching it on the Screen (after VAR intervened). And rightly so. That was never a penalty.

And the 2nd penalty that gave Italy finally the 3-3 was also after VAR intervened because of a handplay. And that was the correct call.

We should have scored more in the 1st half than "only" 3 goals. Anyway, overall the 3-3 is okay .

edit. For Cassio it was a clear penalty, of course, for me (and Lothar Matthäus) not, of course.

 Never seen anything like this before. I think Donnarumma will get some stick about it in the Italian press. Great save from him when he saved Tim Kleindiensts Header for the Corner and then he goes out of the goal to discuss it with the defenders whereas Kimmich is taking the corner quickly to Musiala.

I don't know, for me it's a clear penalty. Just made this video from the TV. For me there are not many doubts... But I respect your opinion. And that of Matthaus ahahah

    Some mad games tonight!

France's squad is a joke btw. Can't see beyond them or Spain winning it next summer.

No German player protests to the referee and they are sure they committed the foul. The incredible mistake that Marciniak makes is telling Barella that there was "space" between the defender and Di Lorenzo... which there isn't. If it's as he says, Di Lorenzo should have received a yellow card for simulation... I repeat, for me this is always a clear penalty. But oh well, let's move on.

For me, Di Lorenzo wanted to get this penalty. It's a 50:50 one imo. But if VAR intervenes then they must have seen something from other perspectives that we can't see from the one above. And the ref. watched it then on screen himself and decided against his first call.

Anyway, we couldn't complain if he had given it nonetheless.

Overall. Our first half was the best I've seen since the 7-1 against Brazil in the semi-final of the 2014 World Cup and the 2nd was the worst I've seen since our 0-6 against Spain in November 2020

Can’t wait for the day that the national team no longer involves Ronaldo or Martinez. **** me it’s ridiculous how he’s still pandered to

Trincao and Ramos completely changed the game

Congrats, @Donnyrovers90 . So Germany vs Portugal next in the Final Four.

Seems they always get through. They were already lucky in the 1st leg by getting the late equalizer.

Let's hope that at least France don't make it through on penalties ;)

edit: Of course, not. France also through on penalties. Too bad :D

Poch is really desperate to come back to Spurs isn't he? Keeps piping up in interviews talking about his desire to manage us again and the USA have lost to Panama and Canada in the last week. The rate he's going he won't have an American World Cup to worry about.

Saw his interview on Sky before the Panama game and thought it was pretty disrespectful TBH. Can't imagine the US FA or their soccerball fans were very happy at him touting himself around like that, then he goes and loses to Panama and Canada.

Wasn't he pictured having lunch with Levy not so long ago?

He needs to move on before the orange rapists goons arrest him and deport him to an el salvadorian concentration camp because the team keeps losing.

After those two results if the USA federation and fans were that bothered he’d probably be going .

Was said last night club managers would have hated seeing so many ties go to extra time and more .

He can't help if he's continually asked about it I suppose but yeah, it doesn't look good when he's in a job and should be focused on that. The club he's talking about also don't have a vacancy currently.

I think one of the things about Poch is that he needs everyone all in 100%, which is partially why the PSG job was difficult. You're only going to get that if you're 100% in yourself though, if it seems like you're distracted by opportunities elsewhere then you can't expect the players to be 100% in themselves.

Think the photos with Levy have been disputed when they actually originate. They went "viral" throughout Spurs twitter last week but given Poch was Stateside on international duty they've been discredited a little bit as to how recent they actually are. I do think they have maintained a decent relationship but I'd take it with a pinch of salt as to it being significant.

This should be satire but he's absolutely petty enough that you can see him having an opinion on Pochettino at some point if the bad results continue.

They'll be at war with Argentina before long.

@Cassio: What was the reaction of the Italian press about the 2-0 goal?

The ballboy who gave Kimmich the ball so quickly was later interviewed by German TV and Kimmich thanked him and gave him a signed ball of the match afterwards

    edit:
The aforementioned "Maldini-Curse" is still intact. So you couldn't have won the match even if the one penalty would have been given. "A Maldini on the field versus Germany" = "No Victory for Italy possible" (Natural (football) Law) :D

It is disrespectful that he is touting himself like that, and really he shouldn't be answering the questions if they are constantly asking him it, it's like when the press keep asking VVD or Salah about there contract situation. The club doesn't have a vacancy currently, but there is no doubts he will be probably watching the unfolding situation regarding Ange and the potential that he could be gone at the end of the season, so might be aligning himself for the job ready.

And the photos I don't agree with, and I find it disrespectful that they are being circulated in the manner of stirring up the pot, and I am in agreement with your point, there is no time stamp to when the photos were taken, and even if they were recent, they could still be good friends and gone out for a meal with no purpose to what it could possibly be.

Doesn't it improve your seeding for things like qualification groups? I'd imagine that could make a big difference.

surprised big Ange is still in job, assuming he is (haven't looked recently) but don't go back

might have worked with Moyes but only because Everton spending meant their struggle at the bottom was a false situation
