Did anyone here used to play it? I used to have a huge board with all the teams from around 1993/94. This image was probably my goal in life 20 years ago
I've got boxes of teams in my loft, a mixture of my own modern ebay collection and my Dads collection, we had it down last month looking on eBay we had around 700 quids worth.
Yeah I used to love it had loads of teams when I was a kid in the early 90s. A combination of my own and teams from my dad's set that hadn't got crushed. I'm pretty sure it's all still together in a box somewhere up the loft in my parent's house, might get it out one day. Does it still exist to buy today?
Had this as a Christmas present back in 1980 and loved it but rarely played the flick-game when on my own. It was a case of moving the players around the pitch pushing the ball like you did as a kid with minature soldiers. At the time I had the infamous England and Scotland fancy shirts, along with Liverpool. Most of the players ended up getting injured by the paws of my dog and I ended up throwing the game away within two years! It was when I was 17 that I borrowed my friend's vintage 60's edition complete with West Ham and Norwich squads but ended up buying Brazil and Wimbledon squads (they had just one the FA Cup) and never returned it to his home despite desperate pleas.
Loved it. Had loads of teams and bits a bobs like subs benches and stuff. Used to get the mother to iron the pitch when I was a kid Fenwicks in Newcastle still sell it all.
All my players got massacred, they were far too fragile. So I bought those ones that you pressed down that had magnets in em and they got massacred as well Ah Pro action football it was called.
A fantastic game. That picture is awesome, but yes, it must have made playing the actual game a nightmare. They're chnaged the players now. When I had it they were little men glued to their stand - and they always broke at the ankles. Now they're flat plastic that just bend.... not half as cool. My favorite team then was Norwich, because I thought their shirts were the best colours.
Loved it. Still probably got boxes of it in my parents' attic. Who remembers this?
The girlfriend bought me the Yeovil team for my birthday. There's a few places on the net that make teams to order.
I had a Subbuteo set with floodlights and a stand with a few fans in it but I had to get rid of it when they started fighting with each other.
I had loads of teams - enough to represent pretty much anyone except Bristol Rovers, and stands on three sides of my pitch. I used to play full leagues of four divisions, picking and playing "top matches" each week, against myself, with the other results being worked out on my Sinclair Spectrum. Looking back, it was a form of madness in a way.
Have loads of it-around 800 1970's sides.Collected it for years and i am currently offing it through ebay. Here's one of my teams if i can suss out how to upload it, AC Milan or ref57 as it's known This is what is called a 'Heavyweight' team or H/W...it's from around 1973 and is shop stock mint. My entire collection is worth a pretty penny now so hopefully it'll do fairly good coin at auction. Collected all the accessories too which are far too many to mention, and obv all the box sets. Must've spent 20 grand on the hobby, don't ask me wtf i was thinking in my 20's and 30's!...i am 45 now so it's bye bye to it
