Wow, this bullshit with Henderson is just about the last ounce of respect I have for the modern game, gone, absolutely. Just about the most professional, respectful, leader you'll ever get, acting like a pure shitbag. Ive defended Henderson to the hilt whilst he recieved all kinds of crap (uncalled for most of the time) but there is no defending that...unreal. Just about THE very last player in the damn country you'd expect to act like this. I sincerely hope the league is a huge flop, clubs go bankrupt, players dont get paid and watch them come crawling back with their tails between theire legs. Hopefully English clubs just put two fingers up to them. This game has gone for me, totally gone. Its just a business now.
Gonna save the negative feelings I've got towards all this because it's expected with the modern game really. Was a great captain and a reliable player or us. Shame how it's ended.
Questions about his off-field stances are fair, but nobody knows how his advocacy will play out in the future or if he will completely shy away from it, so I don't really have an opinion on it until it plays out. The only problem I have that losing him and Milner in one summer leaves a massive leadership void that I'm not entirely convinced of the combination of Virgil, Robertson, and Salah could necessarily fill immediately. Honestly the negativity towards him seems a bit OTT in my opinion, unless I'm missing something completely. I've got not a bad word to say about him, and to me his legacy remains firmly in tact as far as being a player for the club, but I guess it's gone full circle as he's pretty much been Liverpool's punching bag throughout his tenure, so I'm not completely surprised of the reactions of some on his way out. Next big question is if Fabinho's dogs will be allowed in Saudi, I guess.
UPDATE: 1) Mac Allister signed. 2) Lavia personal terms agreed. £45m complete package deal imminent. 3) Chelsea won't be selling Colwill. We will likely turn our attention to our defence once Lavia is signed. 4) Szoboszlai signed.
The silence from our manager is deafening ,which kinda tells me all I need to know. Nothing but contempt for the fella ,there's ways to leave and then there's ways to leave. Off you pop then !
I'm guessing your reference is to those who inhabit the banality of Twitterverse ,because it's certainly not from Kopites mate and I'd really like you to trust me on that !
Liverpool FC — Jürgen Klopp on Jordan Henderson departure: 'We will miss him' Give the kids in the editing team a chance to color correct the video, why don't ya!
I must add, my recent post wasnt about the move, I got no gripes with that, well some but not my main point, its just all this seeing him train with his new club before anything had been finalised, anything announced, before he'd bothered saying farewell, etc...just thought he'd have gone about it a bit more professionally.
I can't imagine he would have gone to that training without being given the go-ahead by the club, otherwise they'd be taking him to court on a breach of contract. Wasn't the training stuff leaked/found footage anyway? Not as if the Saudi club were parading him before they were supposed to?
hitzelsberger has spoken out now, saying he can't believe he fell for the rubbish Henderson was spoiling re LGBT
I would personally have told henderson no thanks for any goodbye videos here. no need to go to anfield. he's made a call and that is that. If he wants to write open letters on his own social media work away. He released his video (that our club enabled) a full 24 hours before the club announced his formal departure. He's gotten the very basics and that should be that. He's let a lot of people outside of the direct playing group down IMO and let them down off his own back. Nobody is batting an eyelid at the other players going.
Where's Thiago? Didn't see him in the Singapore training video. On a side note, it's nice to see that quite a few of our players are book readers.
Right move. Need a captain for the future in vice and TAA suits it perfectly. Salah and Alisson would have fancied it maybe, but ultimately they are heading towards the end of their careers at the club. Also puts the focus on Trent stepping up into the leadership role beyond his years. Hopefully the next step ends up with Trent captain with Curtis Jones vice.
makes sense i think. forces both to push a bit more at times. trent might be good at bridging between the old players and the young ones.
