He's also known for allegedly saying 'hoe zit het dan daarmee' after lobbing his meat down on the table at press conferences ,but hopefully he cuts that out before he gets to England.
Demonstrates their inability to do simple maths, no doubt why they have so many points deductions coming their way.
Was going to reply in the main forum but thought I'd move it here as it's more general. Where are we all on Kelleher? I think there are pros and cons in either keeping or selling him. He's been a fantastic #2, he's never let us down when deputising for Alisson, particularly not this season when he had a run. He's suited our style and obviously had plenty of time working with our defence. Alisson has had his periods out with injury & not having that real worry over a #2 is very welcome. It takes away an area you need to look at with a new manager coming in. There are certain areas of his game that are very strong, but there some that I've huge questions marks over him in and he pales in comparison to Alisson, but most keepers do. I can understand him wanting to play more, I could see some managers being very keen on him for their type of football. I'm also not sold on him being good enough to take over from Alisson, so it's whether there's the need to keep him in that case. This also may be the peak value we'd get for him. An aspect of his value is undoubtedly the homegrown aspect, but we've got another club trained goalkeeper who won the league & cup double on loan in Austria ahead of Salzburg last season and who's going the Euros with the Czechs, in Vitezslav Jaros, so may have that covered...? Keep him or time to cash in?
I think sell him. This is the optimum time given he is coming off a season with plenty of gametime where he performed well. Also his contract is up in 2026 Summer. I don't necessarily think it needs to be about getting the best money for him, it's more that he has spoken about wanting to be a 1st choice and it would be unfair to stand in his way.
Personally would rather keep him as number 2 but I think he wants to leave to be a number 1 so not fair to make him sit on the bench.
I'd sell him as I think Harvey Davies is better than kelleher was at the same age. We've 3 or 4 kids here and some not so much kids as players waiting their turn
Don't stand in his way, if he genuinely wants to be a number 1 elsewhere let him go, Alisson is going nowhere and I can see him still being a top goalie well into his mid/late 30s. Jaros sounds as if he's going to be a real handy keeper too.
Liverpool FC has submitted its Premier League retained list following the end of the 2023-24 season, with confirmation of the departure of several senior and Academy players. As announced last month, Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara are set to leave the Reds upon the expiry of their contracts this summer, following eight and four years respectively with the club. Academy graduate Adam Lewis, who has spent the past two seasons on loan with Newport County, will also bid farewell following the end of his contract. Melkamu Frauendorf is set to depart the club this summer, with the attacking midfielder a frequent figure for the U18s and U21s and featuring twice at senior level during his four years with Liverpool. Mateusz Musialowski will embark on a new chapter in his career, too, having made his first senior Liverpool appearance as a substitute against Sparta Prague in March. The Poland youth international joined the club in the summer of 2020 and was a regular member of the U18s and U21s squads during the past four years. At Academy level, Nathan Giblin, Francis Gyimah, Luke Hewitson, Niall Osborne and Cody Pennington are all set to leave the Reds following the expiry of their deals. Contract offers have been made to senior goalkeeper Adrian – who has made 26 appearances since signing for the club in August 2019 – and Academy stoppers Jacob Poytress and Reece Trueman. Everyone at Liverpool FC thanks Joel, Thiago, Adam, Melkamu, Mateusz, Nathan, Francis, Luke, Niall and Cody for all their contributions and wishes them each the very best for the future. Disappointed about Musialowski, there is a real talent in there, showed flashes of brilliance but never consistently enough.
Wow, really surprised with releasing Musialowski. Hope that doesn't come back to bite us on the butt.
The club have been fairly clear on that young man in terms of work rate If your name is not actually messi you cannot just stand there watching others do all the work then dribble a bit. The total lack of a queue of clubs to pick him up is telling imo.
Yeah, it's notably not been his talent which has seen him struggle to make an impression, both Lewtas and Klopp have indicated it was his work beyond that. They'd both noted an improvement in that area over recent months, so perhaps he'll be able to put it all together and make good on some of that extraordinary ability, but...
Maybe. They gave him a reward there last season so if he gets a club that will back him and play him then maybe it might come together
