Was always hoping a Witcher game that took place well before Geralt. Which in lies the potential of creating your own Witcher and storyline.
Dragons Dogma 2 earlier this year, MH:Wilds next year, these 2 goated games getting sequals after so so so god damn long? Damn Capcom is cooking so hard atm, legit the best they've been since the ps2 era after a meh ps3/4 era. All we need now from them is a new Dino Crisis game.
I played the first 20 minutes of under the waves it was decent. Gonna get back to it again at some point. I'm playing season one the walking dead they are all on game pass I want to play through them all but they been on there for such a long time now so I don't know if i'll get time before they get removed. I'm loving it so far though I like the way you pick and choose which characters live and die a lot like series.
After having a LOTR marathon day in December I decided to replay Shadow Of War and finally got the platinum for it today. Next game will be GOW Ragnarok. Never got round to buying it as the used prices for Western PS5 games doesn't seem to drop as much as it did for the PS4 (even prior to PS5 release) so glad it is finally out on the subscription service.
If you like combat heavy games you should try Nioh 2. It is pretty difficult but much better than GoW Ragnarok imo
I couldn't get into Nioh 1 so not sure if I will be able to get into the 2nd one. Perhaps I will retry the first one if I ever have a dry patch of games to play.
I played the first one when it first came out but I didn't know what I was doing I was just aimlessly wondering about killing people until I quickly got bored and binned it off. I didn't know Shadow Of War was the sequel either until I seen your post and just googled it now. Love everything LOTR though. Even bought Gollum game but it was horrendous. I'm downloading Jedi: Survivor. Never managed to get all the way through the first one so i'll be going into it not knowing the full story but with it being on GP it was too difficult to resist and I need a break from TWD games.
I played Survivor a bit on Game pass but then got distracted and haven't played Xbox for months. Need to give it a go again. Have you tried Rise of the Ronin Jonny? I saw it here pretty cheap but when I read the online reviews they all said that it was pretty average, Wo Long was better despite being a side project for the team and that NIOH 2 is the greatest thing Team Ninja have ever done
i had a quick go of rise of the ronin and wasn’t that impressed tbh. I thought Wo long was fun but it is no where near the quality of the Nioh series. Nioh 2 is one of the absolute best games I’ve ever played
Will give it a miss then and just wait for the next Ghosts game for my Japanese history fix. Saw in the other thread you have undisputed too. How is it? When I played the demo I had quite a few bugs and the weight management on career mode annoyed me as the only way I could make weight for my second fight was totally crushing my stamina.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Hasn't quite lived up to my expectations but will still probably be my favourite game this year.
Anyone gonna try Avowed? I'm trying to stay away until I finished some of the other games but I know temptation will get the better of me. Looks like a beautiful game from the short videos I seen on X.
If you need a Japanese history fix then Nioh is it mate! It’s set at the end of the sengoku period and oda nobunaga and tokagowa ieyasu are major characters in the games. It takes ‘plenty’ of liberties with the real history but that familiarity is one of the many reasons I love both games Undisputed is fun but not a game I’ll be playing much tbh. It feels sluggish as much as anything. I played career mode and had the same issue as you so I just played exhibition fights instead. My plan against my boxing coach went to shit within half a round as he just spammed power shots. That was the most effective way to play imo and none of our fights went past 3 rounds. There’s a few broken fighters apparently as well. Wilder is virtually unbeatable in the hands of a competent player, so I think there’s some balance issues
I should still have access to Nioh 1 so might give it another go. Is the fighting system the same in both games? It is a bit depressing that FN Champions is still the last decent boxing game we have had and that came out 13-14 years ago I was really excited for Undisputed but it seems they bit off a bit more than they could chew. Hopefully it is something they can keep working on and it becomes a gem in the future.
I don't really like modern Obsidian games, back to Outer Worlds. Kinda buzzwordy I know but they lean a bit too hard into the 'soft modern' or 'millennial writing' for me. A bit of a shame as I remember being pretty interested when I saw their reveal trailer back in the day, they completely changed tone and art style though. I thought it was going to be a dark fantasy Elder Scrolls alternative. Not to mention pricing. It's clearly only priced like that to get people to sign up to Gamepass and I could do without another subscription. Next up for me is the Yakuza pirate spin off and then depending how well it's optimised for PC the new Monster Hunter game.
