We had a couple of poor days when it rained all day and a couple when it was cloudy, but overall it was sunny and hit at least 24° every day, and never dipped below 18° at night. Not too bad.
Ho Chi Minh is a great place, of all the places I’ve been to in Asia it’s got the least amount of culture. But as I’m jist visiting my brother and catching up it’s great for going out for food and bars. Onto Kuala Lumpur tomorrow which I can’t wait for
At the airport now after about a week in Buenos Aires on a solo trip. What a city. Great food, beautiful architecture, gorgeous people. Highlight was watching the Copa Libertadores matches at a local pub seeing River and Boca fans go absolutely nuts.
Got back from my trip to Vietnam and Malaysia. Ho Chi Minh was great, but after being there for a week and a bit you run out of stuff to do. There's not much going on culturally, it feels very defined by the war. I did go to the war museum which was very eye opening, but most evenings were just spent going out eating and to bars catching up with my brother. Kuala Lumpur though.. gets me every time, would highly recommend to anyone
Forgot that I started this...made me cringe looking back at my first year of uni self though Went to Austin, LA & Vegas this year already, then skiing in Austria just before Christmas. Definitely been a good one.
Last minute trip to Portugal booked from next Thursday 20th - Christmas Eve, I need some relief from this cold weather
Putting the final touches to a trip to Namibia/Botswana in September. Skeleton Coast and Okavango Delta have been on the bucket list for a long time and we've finally found a way that works without internal flights.
Heading for a few days in Yorkshire next month. Beverley and a trip to see the birds on Bempton Cliffs and Flamborough Head. Then Langdon Beck in Teesdale, mainly to see the Black Grouse leck
Spent Sun-Fri of last week in Gibraltar, with it being Easter holidays. From Manchester there are only flights on Sun, Wed and Fri, so not a great deal of choice. Holiday itself was great, weather really good for first four days and we found plenty to do without venturing to Spain or Morocco. They use GBP and you can pick up spirits and aftershaves pretty cheap over there too (cigs too for those who smoke). I have posted a few photos below.
I'm going somewhere really glamorous for a few days in August.... Norwich Is there anyone from Norwich on here can tell me more about The Waterfront? Is it a bar? Music venue? And is it somehow connected to the University? @Canary Fairy @KeiranShikari or anyone.
It's an OK music venue that was started by the City Council but has been run by UEA Students Union since the 90s. Few alternatives until you get to Cambridge and has some good bands. I'm too old to comment on the club nights. It's possible I'll be there for Alabama 3 in August. Plenty of better options in the City if you're not going for the music.
Aye mate its for music. They're having an Americana takeover day in august and local band Morganway is playing which is probably the main reason I've booked up. Just booked digs according to Google maps is only 12 minutes walk to and from the venue, should be able to manage that in my slightly inebriated state
Ib my lifetime of living near Norwich, I’ve never been to The Waterfront! My son goes regularly and they put some good bands on
Bulgaria in a few weeks. Las Vegas in November and probably squeeze in city's pre season in Marbella in July.
