Watched a couple of recent documentaries about Liam Gallagher. He’s comes across as a really likeable bloke and is very open about his struggles with direction and his mental health. Really enjoyed his solo stuff so far and he’s very good live. He was meant to be a front man.
Gallagher owes an apology to the Melbourne crowd for coming on stage so late knowing there was a 10:30pm cut off point and then rushing through some of Oasis’ best songs. Looks like the Foos will continue post Hawkins, maybe with guest drummers instead of a permanent member to start with? I think those two gigs in London and LA are testers to see how they feel about it all, would be a shame if they called it a day. Yeah, and James Hatfield, I’m looking at you son, get you and your bands’ arses over here pronto, you owe me..
Guns n roses at marlay Park Dublin on Tuesday 28th June. Was supposed to be on 2 years ago but better late than never. Have seen them almost a decade ago indoors but this is with more and almost all of the members they started with in the 80s.
Ya thats good news. He certainly doesn't look as cool and I'm guessing he won't be running around like he used to but the voice is what matters the most. Forecasts not looking great but hopefully the rain can hold off for those few hours
Taking my daughter to see the keiser chiefs in Brighton in November. Saw the killers last month in soton we’ll both be going to see Dave when he’s next doing some gigs
Just got me a ticket for Nick Cave here in Melbourne in December. Should be good him being a home boy and all..
Did my first concert since pre covid and it was a day at the Bloodstock Festival on Saturday! I don't know if many metalheads are on here but the highlight for me was seeing Jinjer, who I was highly anticipating and most looking forward to anyway. Dimmu Borgir who I have seen before anyway were decent as expected but their set was really short and I really took a liking to Lorna Shore who I hadn't heard previously to the festival. Will definitely be looking to go next year, maybe even more than the day next time with some big guns like Megadeth, DevilDriver and Killswitch announced already In between I will hopefully get back on the horse and start going concerts regularly again maybe starting with Behemoth/Arch Enemy in early October.
Alt-J have canceled their forthcoming tour of Australia with the excuse, "Due to the new and evolving logistical challenges of touring in a post pandemic world, we have sadly, after much debate, been forced to reschedule the Australian & New Zealand leg of The Dream tour to 2023.“ In other words, the drummer hasn’t been jabbed..
Just go tickets for Kings Of Leon in November. Gotta love those apples. Just had a look at their set list, they play a lot of their first three albums which let’s face it, they went a little bit shit after those nuggets..
So, last night I get an email from a small nightclub in the CBD telling me that Tom Grennan is doing a low key gig at their place on Thursday night and would I be interested in going. Two minutes later and I've got myself two tickets. Word is that he's in town to perform at the AFL Grand final on Saturday and this is a warm up gig. Can't wait.
Going to see Kings Of Leon tonight. I'd normally be pumped for this as it's being held at the Sydney Myers music bowl which apparently is a superb venue. But England are playing Sri Lanka at the same time and I'm going to have to check score updates without pissing the missus off too much..
Saw The Bootleg Beatles for the second time last night. There are still a few tickets left for tonight's show and I'm really tempted to go again, they are so good live, incredible show. They're performing the rooftop performance as the second part of the gig and then a couple of added tracks from the Let It Be album, and while it's not easy to pick a favourite performer, the guy playing Lennon is superb, his rendition of Across The Universe is magnificent..
He was magnificent, no other word for it. I was lucky enough to see Freddie at Live Aid so he wins best showman that I’ve seen but Nick runs him a close second. The gig was mainly based around the Ghosteen album so the fare was relative to that with loss and longing the main subject matter but it was worth the entrance fee alone to see him perform Hand Of God as he walked atop the seats of the first front rows, incredible..
Just bought tickets to see The Foo Fighters in Melbourne on December 4th and again in Sydney on the 9th. Great excuse for me to go to Sydney again because unlike most Melburnians I love the city, and we really don't go there often enough. Oh, and the band will be quite good..
