Thanks for those pictures, I remember the ground well from match of the day, never knew those top tiers were all standing. I like that bottom picture of the empty terraces, those top tiers look really weird but good at the same time. Was there are separate entrance to get up there? or could anyone on the lower terrace go up?
Birmingham's ground, taken way back when the Villa used to win things and fans still preferred coming to the Blues; .
There is no better sight to me than terraces packed solid, and those terraces look about as packed as you can get.
Celtic End, at Celtic Park Celtic End, as seen from The Jungle. View from the back of the Rangers End, with the Jungle on the right hand side, and the Celtic End at the far end of the ground. The Rangers End. That was a beast of a ground, only around 8,000 seats in a 67,000 capacity ground, it looked like this right up until 1994, when they were forced to get rid of the terraces.
Was the Valley one of the biggest grounds in the country at one point? That terrace is huge. There is something apocalyptic about a rotting stadium.
Not sure if this has been post in earlier pages (forgive me if it has) Seen this doing the rounds on facebook recently. Wonderful video from BBC news of Liverpool fans Sining the Beatles on the terraces of Anfield back in the 70's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7jcB_v5inc
