By all means I find the comparisons silly, precisely because there's so many differences to point to. Klopp and Arteta both took over midseason. It makes comparing the first seasons had because Klopp/Arteta didn't get full seasons. And it makes comparing the full seasons harder because Klopp/Arteta still got half a season to get their feet under the table.

Albeit Klopp reached two cup finals in his half season. And Arteta won a cup final. Spurs under Ange got dumped out the League Cup at round 2 and the FA Cup in round 4.... which is the biggest 'wtf?' to take away from this season for Spurs imo. And one we've already discussed so won't waste your time going over it again.

My overall point is that the best teams right now have given their managers time. We should do the same with any manager if we want them to progress the club.

The season hasn't been perfect, Ange's biggest fans haven't suggested it has been but there's enough cause for optimism.

I'm done having discussions about the manager until much further in to next season.

And the predictable sensitive Klopp comment based on nothing more than questioning a comparison.

Sensitivity has nothing to it. I just don't overly rate Postecoglou and don't think ultimately he will have Spurs challenging for silverware any more than the other managers you've had over the last couple of decades.

But I accept I've maybe posted about this more than I should have so will now leave it. Well, unless he's shit next season. ;)

I haven't seen much discourse that Spurs, or Ange, have failed. They have perhaps dropped the ball given they had a good start though. I don't get why they've struggled so much the second half of this season. Perhaps having such a disjointed and light schedule made it harder to build any momentum?

As much as Klopp liked to bemoan the schedule, I did always find Liverpool lacked bite after they did get time off.

Not to mention Klopp didn't get the pleasure of a pre season and transfer window to bring some players in, he walked into Rodger's mid season mess, an injury crisis and a team that had just lost one of the best forwards the leagues ever seen ;)

In truth, I dont think Ange and Spurs have done too badly this season. Pretty much had them down for 5th/6th at best.

Anyway, glad we got some kind of "revenge" for the farce of a game at Spurs, but once again, refused a clear pen. Dont give a shit how much Gapko exagerated the fall, it was a pen all day long and if its not a pen, why isnt Gakpo booked for diving? As well as the Romero was it? Handball (admittedly would have been soft).

Not too arsed, didn't cost us anything luckily enough.

Gonna repeat to you what I say to United fans who also point to Arsenal giving Arteta time.

It is remarkably easier to stick with a manager when there are no fans in the stadium. And those fans are also willing to be patient when the novelty of being back in the ground after staying at home for 18 months hasn't worn off yet. Both of these things were factors for Arteta.

I remain convinced that had fans been in the stadiums in late 2020, Arteta would have been booed into unemployment.

Obvious statement but the fans will decide how much time Ange gets. And my prediction right now is that patience will be sorely tested come November.

I personally don't think he will ,but who knows. I mean ,I'm not about to second guess a new manager coming in but looking at Weiffer who is the DM and fulcrum of Feyenoords middle and arguably why Feyenoords press works so effectively ,I think Elliott will have a job on his hands holding down that midfield role ,all of Slots attacking midfielders have the ability to play one touch football and unfortunately 'although a talented lad' I think this is an area were Elliott struggles along with his general pace . I personally think the likes of Sobz and Macca will be two of the mainstays in the team and in a similar vein to Elliott I don't see Gravenberch getting to grips with the one touch stuff either ,but that's just my opinion.

Feel like we are watching completely different players. All I know is Elliott is one of our most talented players and Slot will definitely use him a lot. No coincidence Klopp put him in the team when he was still a teenager.

He's a talented player ,but he has a few shortfalls. As an Impact sub probably fine ,but I certainly wouldn't play him as a starter ?

In other news, a few Liverpool players went straight down the tunnel at the final whistle rather than acknowledging the support of the fans. I think seeing this was the most disappointing aspect of the day and shows a distinct lack of respect to fans that have backed them to the hilt through periods of poor form ?

What periods of poor form? Your recent run of "only" 2 wins in 7 matches in all comps is the worst you've had it as far as I am aware, and thinking you deserve a pat on the back for "backing" them through that just makes you sound incredibly entitled

So are you stating a player can only be playing badly when we're losing ? I think you were far too hasty in jumping on my post if the truth be told. As for making an equally hasty judgement on my character based on said post ,well that says more about you really.

I think its more in general how things went the past couple of months. We were flying, still in with a very good shout for a quadruple until the United cup game, from that game onwards, nearly 2 months? We've been pretty poor. We were knocked out of the cup by a piss poor United side when the game should have been wrapped up, we were humiliated on our own patch by a bang average Atalanta and knocked out of the EL, surrendered a league winning lead in the PL meekly against Palace, at home, then once again lost a local derby to a piss poor Everton side. I'd say that was a run of poor form, no?

Its been one of the more disappointing periods in Liverpools recent history/Klopps tenure all things considering i.e. Klopp leaving, wanting to send him away on a high, etc which has compounded it more than usual.

He knows exactly what I mean fella .All Liverpool players over the years has been expected to show respect to the fans in reciprocation of the support they themselves receive ,it's not just this season it's been like that since I can remember.

That's the exact 7 games run I mentioned in my post. You've had a small 7 game slump over the course of a gruelling ~55 game season. Acting like Liverpool fans have done anything special by continuing to back the players during that time just makes you sound entitled, and I stand by that.

Clearly I don't mate, because I genuinely don't understand why you seem to think you've done anything special by not turning on your players.
You've won a cup and are going to finish third in the league, yet seem to be acting like you've done the players a favour by backing them this season.
