Sounds like it, we wouldn't meet Holy's demands so that was pulled.

Bit worried about the lack of pace at the back, Dodds excepted. Technical, pacey frontlines will trouble Waterfall, Parkes & Ferguson (sign another left back please).

Done well generally but struggles against pace.

John turned down a contract, unsure if anyone has already answered this yet. He would be a decent signing for this league if you do keep him.

No Willoughby in our second string team or bench for tonight's friendly at Southport

    Interesting one for us.

Tetek, who was our best midfielder last season and IMO one of the best in the league, didn’t renew his contract, and Widdrington said he was trialling at Eastleigh.

However, his name is on our team sheet for tonight’s game against Bristol City (not as a trialist), even though he wasn’t listed on our squad numbers which were announced a few hours ago.

Would be a huge boost if true, absolutely class player (when he’s fit of course, hence why he’s playing at this level)

“Think” the Junior Morias stuff has cooled-down from what I hear from a source at the club, we tried but wouldn’t be held to ransom over living arrangements paid in for what would be a short term deal. Also been told by DD Strevs doesn’t rate him (team/tactics ect wise), trust that my end.

As of last week we’ve spoken with the agent of Keenan Appiah-Forson, heard four clubs in for him.

Can’t imagine we will do much while we’re in Italy playing our new sister club, we might bring trialists Kian Jenkins and Wes McDonald as some of the staff couldn’t make it on short notice.

1/2 more to come in before the start of the season I hear.

Daggers peeps, what's your feelings on Shiloh Remy? Will he shine for you this coming season?

Probably not, won’t be a starter as he now has Dion Pereira ahead of him. Not seen enough to make an informed opinion but needs to bulk up a bit for this level or he will just get eaten up by most full backs who at this can be brutes.

Cheers Dave, a mate of mine down in Sussex was asking as hadn't heard much progress from him since he moved up to yours. Still year or so left with you, so maybe this will be a development season for him.

Been quieter for us than most expected.

Consensus is we need 4 more players: GK cover, RWB cover, Creative midfield and another striker, so hoping to see some movement over the next week or so, leaving it late.

Not encouraging comments from Sarll on the GK/signings front yesterday. Doesn't look like the budget is there to sign many more, the bits I heard about the low numbers coming in sounds on the money.

The only conclusions I can draw on the recruitment slowdown are poor budget, which you can understand people worrying when the club won’t post anything about ST sales numbers, or Sarll is being very very picky and patient to land the targets he’s identified with Joe and Ronnie. More of a case of hope for the latter but likely the former.

It might be a bit of both as Sarll says publicly he likes small squads and is why he was hired, I have it on decent authority he said to Raj he can get the team competing on smaller budgets and well here he is trying to do that.

That said he knows we need a few more but I think he only wants a certain type coming in. If there was more money available I think we'd have one or two more in by now, as a result he has to go on Radio Tees giving the usual excuses why people aren't signing.

Fondop will be a sub, and he will chip in with goals.
    Norwood will score goals fact.
Smith is a big target man who scores goals, may not have pace but he would be a major threat and has been what Norwood has been missing.
Still got Garner too who is a major pest.
And then there are still rumours of Stones, no matter what Wigan manager says its not a dead deal.
So Norwood, Smith, Fondop, Garner may be ageing but there is goals in abundance there, esp as other ares seem to have been improved.
