The weather just doesn't want to make it's mind up. Left for work yesterday to beautiful sunshine, not a cloud in the sky, wearing my shorts, to driving down the A1 for 50 miles to be greeted with heavy rain to the point the window wipers of the van couldn't keep the screen clear, so ended up doing nearly 35mph for miles as I couldn't see beyond my own nose, and the motorway nearly resembling a stream, that I considered a boat would have been the better solution than a van. Getting to the destination, it was back to being dry again. Same for today, but rain wasn't as heavy as it was yesterday. Come on Summer, where the **** are you . . .
Feels like it's not stopped raining for 13 months, it's unbelievable tbh I can't remember it ever being this wet.
A lovely 16o here and I am enjoying it, flat windows open, the wife moaning she is cold and wants the central heating on, no chance if I can help it, I would rather be a polar bear relaxing than a sausage on a barbeque.
Yaaay back to that awful drizzle that gets you drenched. Rather it poured down for an hour but oh no we have this shit for hour after hour.
It rains for about 10 minutes, then dry, then back to rain for 10 minutes, it just doesn't know what it wants to do. Never known it to rain as much as it has over this past year, even last summer was pathetic. People say why do people go abroad when we have great things to do over in this country, I agree with that sentiment but you don't want to go and visit these beautiful places in this country whilst it's pissing down with rain for hours upon end
Been one of those days when it looks like it wants to rain but hasn't. Love how unpredictable our weather can be.
It's absurd. I always say to people (foreigners) that the bad English weather is exaggerated and its not actually that bad but this year has been dreadful. I can't remember a worse year of weather. Luckily I'm going away in August so might get a glimpse of summer then.
Raining first thing this morning, been to some flats in St Annes, still raining, called at a house in Preston on the way home, still raining. Stopped raining now but it's still chilly and overcast.
I think last year was close to being as bad as this year tbh. I remember going to Tenerife mid July, and listening to friends saying that it's rained non stop for weeks and weeks. Then when I came back, it just continued being crap weather.
Still nice and cool for me, not much of a summer this year, long may it last, and bring on the snow, please.
Dry all night, and would you Adam and Eve it, it's raining again, it also looks like it's in for the day too. Great.
This weather must be absolutely soul destroying for people involved in the tourist industry in this country, garbage weather for a year now and no end in sight, at least the pubs are doing ok for a bit with the Euros.
For those that think it's always warm in Australia...., Melbourne - BBC Weather It's been really cold this winter here and it's depressing when my lad rings me from Perth and he's been to the beach.. I'm not bitter. The weather is..
It's a lovely Summer day here so i'm looking forward to sitting outside the club in The Mendip Hills drinking cider,i'll make the most of it as it's supposed to rain every day next week.
Mon, 15th Jul 2024 is St Swithin's Day, and if it rains (which it did) then it'll supposedly rain every day for the next 40 days. Bit like the last 40 days then.
